| 内容記述 | This study primarily focuses on the issue of part-of-speech misuse by Japanese learners when using the Japanese and Chinese homophone "success". A comparison of dictionaries shows that "success" is typically an adjective and verb in Chinese, but mainly a noun or verb in Japanese, highlighting significant part-of-speech differences between the two languages. This paper takes the word "success" as an example and first presents a statistical analysis of its usage in the corpus. The study finds that, as a noun, "success" has more verb collocations in Japanese than in Chinese. Both languages share the expression "achieving success." As a verb, "success" collocates with nouns related to "human spirit and actions" in both languages, but in Japanese, it also collocates with vocabulary related to "abstract relations," which does not occur in Chinese. | |||||||||||||
