内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to develop questions that would enable elementary school teachers to easily grasp the actual first graders’ state of the quality to develop by the end of early childhood just after entering elementary school concerning the interest in and the sense of quantities, shapes, signs, and letters, etc. In July 2022, three teachers in charge of first graders were asked to describe about the behaviors of their children concerning interest in or sense of quantities, shapes, signs, letters, and so on that were related to the elementary school mathematics. The descriptions gathered in this preliminary survey were grouped with similarity, and ten questions based on behavioral contents of keywords which extract from grouped descriptions were created. To verify the validity of the questions created in the preliminary survey, the main survey was conducted in May 2023. Three first-grade teachers and 100 first-grade children of an elementary school were participated in this survey. Teachers were asked to observe all students in their classes at each point of 10 questions and the children were tested with 19 questions on quantity and shapes. Valid responses were obtained from all of teachers and children. The t tests of differences between the teacher observation (observed or not) on children’s test score related each 10 questions revealed that only two items ("matching numbers with figures" and "comparing quantities") had significant differences. Therefore, these two questions were confirmed that they were valid questions to observe a mathematics related quality to develop by the end of early childhood. | |||||||||
