The purpose of this study is to enhance students' metacognitive abilities and foster creativity in junior high school by integrating four subjects: music, art, foreign language, and physical education. The study began with students appreciating abstract paintings and expressing their impressions using English adjectives. By utilizing the polysemic nature of English adjectives, students explored diverse interpretations of the works and conveyed their impressions through physical expressions in physical education. Subsequently, the impressions of these physical expressions were described using English adjectives, which were then translated into melodies in music classes. Finally, the impressions of the melodies were expressed as paintings in art c lasses. Through this multi modal process, the study examined how students' impressions evolved across different forms of expression while simultaneously enhancing metacognitive abilities and fostering creativity. Questionnaire results indicated an improvement in students' ability to plan and execute learning tasks. Additionally, surveys assessing creativity revealed increased determination to complete tasks, the ability to challenge existing methods, and the capacity to devise innovative approaches. |
