1992年5月から1993年11月まで、広島県福山市鞆町仙酔島の磯水域において、スガイ(リュウテンサザエ科)の年齢と成長について調査した。その結果次のような資源生態的特性を明らかにした。蓋に形成される輪紋が年齢形質として有効であることが明らかにされ、年齢形質法により本種の成長を算出した結果、成長式は次式で表された: SDt = 30.40 (1-e^0.3407t-0.3313) これによると、SD∞は30.40mmであった。採集された最大個体のSDは28.66mmで、蓋の輪紋から年齢は満7才と推定された。成長は満0～1才が速いが、高齢になるにつれて鈍化した。本種は春から秋にかけて成長し、低水温期の冬はほとんど成長しなかった。 |

The age and grow th of the turbinid gastropod Lunella coronata coreensis at Sensui-jima Island, Hiroshima Prefecture were examined from May 1992 to November 1993. Age was determined from year rings in the operculum. An individual with the largest operculum (shell diameter= 28.66 mm) was 7-year old. The relationship between age and shell diameter (SD) was expressed using von Bertalanffy's grow th equation: SDt = 30.40 ( 1-e-0.3407 (t-0.3313)). Population grow th was rapid at 0 to 1 year of age and decreased thereafter. Growth was suppressed by the low sea water temperature in winter. |
