| 内容記述 | This study focuses on preschool directors who are expected to play diverse andimportant roles in improving the quality of childcare, particularly those who do not possess alicense or formal qualification related to early childhood education. Its aim is to clarify thedifficulties faced by these administrators and how they overcome them. Using an interviewapproach, we confirmed that such directors face many difficulties, and how they perceive thesechallenges, based on their prior experiences in roles such as those of vice-principal oradministrative director, are related to early childhood education. The interview revealed thatdirectors without qualifications feel the “weight of responsibility” in caring for young children asa challenge, and they encounter difficulties arising from the immaturity of staff members asprofessionals and the weakness of working within their new organization. Additionally, it wasmade clear that qualified directors can bring an external perspective to these unqualified officials,highlighting their discomfort yet also creating opportunities for discussions on and improvementsconcerning what has been taken for granted within the school. The study is focused on directorswho have previously served as vice-principals or department heads and investigates howunqualified directors are perceived by vice-principals and department heads and the difficultiesthey encounter when welcoming unqualified principals. By including this perspective, we canview unqualified directors from multiple angles, bringing attention to this important futurechallenge. | |||||||||||||
