| 内容記述 | This study explores Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi’s contemporary significance in teachereducation by re-examining his concept of attachment to children, as depicted in Brief an einenFreund über seinen Aufenthalt in Stans (Letters From Stants), in which he describes his feelingsof attachment to the children he met while working at an orphanage. The term “attachment” isconsidered a crucial link between his ideal foundation of home education and the marginaleducational context in which he worked. However, his attachment to the children was so intensethat it cannot be fully encapsulated by a single term. Variations in the translation of the originaltext have led to differing interpretations among researchers. As a result, the text has not been fullyunderstood within existing interpretative frameworks and remains largely unreferenced incontemporary teacher-education discourse. To address this gap, this paper introduces the conceptof the “clinical” approach. The term “clinical” refers to the creation of a mutual listeningrelationship in which individuals accept and strive to understand one another’s experiences as ifthey were their own, within a synchronic relationship,where they share suffering in the samemoment in time. Pestalozzi established a synchronic relationship with the children he taught bysharing in their suffering at the orphanage. He then developed this into a mutual listeningrelationship by immersing himself in their experiences, even at the risk of his own personalhardship. The profound sense of unity between the self and others in this relationship is believedto represent Pestalozzi’s “attachment” to the children. From this analysis, two key aspects ofPestalozzi’s contemporary significance emerge. First, his work demonstrates that a synchronicrelationship between a child and a teacher can transform a difficult educational situation into aproductive one. Second, the development of this relationship into one marked by mutual listeningcan foster the creation of effective educational methods and instructional techniques. | |||||||||||||
