| 内容記述 | In schools, teachers engage in various forms of self-disclosure with their students. However, the value of such self-disclosure has not been fully considered in relation to subject instruction. This study examines the educational significance of self-disclosure by civics teachers through interviews and lesson observations of three teachers who intentionally and consciously engage in self-disclosure. The results of the analysis categorized civic teachers’ selfdisclosure into the following four types. Type A: Teachers’ self-disclosure related to one’s own “social view”, that promotes students’ knowledge acquisition and growth; Type B: Teachers’ self-disclosure related to matters other than one’s own “social view”, that promotes knowledge acquisition and growth; Type C: Teachers’ self-disclosure related to one’s own “social view”, that creates a climate conducive to students’ self-disclosure; Type D: Teachers’ self-disclosure related to matters other than one’s own “social view”, that creates a climate conducive to students’ selfdisclosure. Civics teachers should select the type of self-disclosure that aligns with their own teaching philosophy. | |||||||||
