| 内容記述 | This paper is a discussion on the transmission and genealogy of the “Bankoku Souzu” （a pair of ‘the world map’ and ‘the pictures of 40 peoples （male & female） in the world’）, considered the first printed world map in Japan, published in Nagasaki in the mid-17th century in the early Edo period, and a similar world map published later in Kyoto. Although there is already an excellent work by UNNO Kazutaka on this discussion, questions have arisen about UNNO’s genealogical maps as unreported materials from the Moriya Hisashi Collection have been disclosed one after another in recent years at the Hiroshima Prefectural Museum of History in 2016 and 2023. In this report, analyzing the “Bankoku-Souzu” newly released in 2023, examine its production intent and production value, and clarify its relative position to the existing materials. Then examining the genealogy of the “Bankoku Souzu” produced in Nagasaki and the process of its popularization in Kyoto and proposing a new genealogy of its imitations |
