| 内容記述 | This essay illustrates the framework of “two confronting geopolitical theories”—Anglo-American geopolitical theory and Continental geopolitical theory—and examines how the conflict between their worldviews relates to contemporary armed conflicts. Furthermore, it explores the utility of these perspectives in analyzing conflicts. While both "confronting geopolitical theories" share the geopolitical perspective that the geographical environment influences the political tendencies of human groups, they rely on fundamentally different theoretical premises, resulting in entirely distinct worldviews. Anglo-American geopolitical theory forms the foundation of diplomatic and security strategies for seapowers, whereas Continental geopolitical theory underpins the strategies of land-powers. These theories do not oppose each other within a single geopolitical framework; rather, their conflict arises from adopting completely divergent worldviews. This essay aims to present several key points on how the "two confronting geopolitical theories" contribute different perspectives to the analysis of conflicts in the contemporary world. | |||||||||
