| 内容記述 | The rising number of Japanese as a second language (JSL) students has prompted schools to ensure appropriate learning support, including JSL instruction. Building networks between JSL teachers and other staff is essential but often insufficient. Similarly, Yogo teachers (nursing teachers) face challenges in establishing connections despite their specialised roles. They are termed "only specialists" (hitorishoku), distinct from subject teachers. Previous studies have highlighted that "only specialists" are dependent on other teachers because of their limited interaction with students. However, this study explored their potential. It focuses on the relationship between "only specialists" and other teachers, and aims to investigate how these teachers build cooperative relationships with others to support JSL students. Furthermore, the study examines the impact of head teacher's leadership on networking. Using qualitative analysis (SCAT) of interviews with a JSL teacher, a Yogo teacher, and a head teacher, the study revealed the following findings. First, both JSL and Yogo teachers acknowledged their unique responsibility to support students requiring special care or instruction. Second, trusting relationships were established between "only specialists" and other teachers, although occasional miscommunication arose due to misunderstandings. Lastly, the principal's supportive leadership influenced networking efforts. The results indicate that "only specialists" can foster greater independence under following circumstances: clearly defined roles, mutual communication between other teachers, and head teacher's supportive leadership that encourages teachers. | |||||||||
