| 内容記述 | Akinari Ueda and Ugetsu Monogatari appeared in the full-length novel Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami, and part of them were cited in the novel. Nonetheless, several problems regarding the relationship between these works have not been clarified. For example, why was Ugetsu Monogatari cited in Kafka on the Shore? How was Ugetsu Monogatari inserted into Kafka on the Shore? The current study intends to figure out the influence that Haruki Murakami received from Ugetsu Monogatari in order to examine how Ugetsu Monogatari was transformed and included into Kafka on the Shore. The attention is paid to the texts related with Ugetsu Monogatari, and the texts are analyzed based on the intertextuality theory. The analysis shows that Ugetsu Monogatari plays a crucial role in scenarios, character relationships and theme. | |||||||
