本研究は,新しい科学観を取り入れた理科カリキュラムを開発することを目的としている。 初年度である本年度は,新しい科学観である「科学の本質」について検討し,それがどのようなものか,日本の理科学習に取り組むことが可能であるかについて考え,中学校での2つの特徴的な授業実践を試行するとともに,カリキュラム構想を示した。 ESD(持続可能な開発のための教育)と関連させたり,SSI(科学や技術が関連する社会的諸問題)を取り入れて日常知と学校知の連携を図ったりする実践の試行を通して,中学校理科の中で「科学の本質」を学習内容として取り組むことが可能であることがわかった。また,「科学の本質」を学習する際には授業の流れと学習形態が重要であること,具体的には,グループ活動や生徒間の議論,科学的証拠に基づく論証活動を取り入れていくことが必要となる点が明らかになった。 |

This study develops a new science curriculum that includes the concept of the "Nature of Science" from elementary through upper-secondary school. In the first year, we explored what the Nature of Science is and how we can design a new curriculum that includes it. We performed two trial research practices in lower-secondary science classes. One of two lessons related to "Education for Sustainable Development" (ESD) and the other one was based on socio-scientific issues. Through discussions and the two practices, we discovered that it is possible to include the Nature of Science among the teaching contents for lower-secondary school science, and we suggest that science teachers need to consider what kind of teaching strategy to employ and how students' activities, such as small group discussion and argument based on scientific evidence, should be conducted during teaching of the Nature of Science. |
