| 内容記述 | This study examines the actual state of music education in the Meiji and Taisho eras as seen in the magazine Music World, with a focus on song education. Music World was published from 1908 to 1923, spanning the Meiji and Taisho eras in Japan. The contents range from introducing songs, current Western music trends, styles of playing musical instruments and music theory. This can be read the purpose of trying to breathe fresh air into the music world over the field of everything aiming at new development based on cultural development until 1897. Though Music World is a prewar magazine, it was reprinted in 1995 and thus was highly influential at that time. Music World is compiled by information related to music from the item of a lot, and various musical information is mentioned in the respective items. Information was presented to concerned musician readers and became an index of music education. Therefore, it can be assumed that musicians throughout Japan participated in music education by referring to Music World. The state of school musical education is also mentioned, and thus the circumstances of such education in those eras are revealed. In this way, Music World refers to a variety of music information. Therefore, it is a suitable historical source for understanding the reality of the music education in the Meiji and Taisho eras. | |||||||||
