In this period so many independent communities were formed that diverse discourses coexisted in one nation, and they communicated and mixed up with one another. At the same time, the dominance of the aristocratic order was supplanted by that of the religious one, which in turn came to represent the nation's self-identification and maintain its imaginary unity on the level of discourse.
