環境事業の推進のためにボランティアの重要性が高まっている.ボランティアの参加動機は, コスト・ベネフィットから解釈されることが多いが, 理論的予測は実証結果と一致してこなかった.本研究では, 参加を取り止める交通費などを質問することで, ボランティア活動参加時のコスト・ベネフィットの感覚を検証した.その結果, ボランティア参加のコスト・ベネフィットは, 参加開始時には有意であるが, その値は極めて安いこと, また活動継続には, コスト・ベネフィットは関係しないことを見出した.ボランティア募集には, ベネフィットを強調するよりも, アクセスを増やすなどの方策が有効と考えられた. |

There is growing importance of volunteer in order to improve environmental projects and activities. Although in many case motives of participation in volunteer activities are explained by cost and benefit including mental utility, theoretical predictions have not concurred with the empirical outcome. This study used question such as on transportation expenses which prevent the participation to estimate a sense of cost and benefit, and tested relations to the volunteer participation. Results indicated that the cost and benefit of volunteer participation was significant at beginning of participation and its price was quite cheep, but not significant for retention and continuance of the activity. Strategies such as increasing opportunities of participation were thought to be more effective than emphasizing the benefit for recruitment of volunteers. |
